PHYSICAL THERAPY

  • Neuroplasticity—the brain's ability to form new connections is the foundation for the treatment of LSVT BIG® . LSVT® is a treatment approach for people with Parkinson’s disease that addresses the cognitive aspects of the disease, leading to significant improvements in function, balance, and gait.

    Patients are given specific exercises involving large amplitude and exaggerated movement patterns. Research conducted by the National Institutes of Health reveal that this therapy leads to smoother, larger, and safer movements as well as improved quality of life. High intensity exercises is also shown to delay the progress of falling dopamine levels in the body.

  • Dynamic’s physical therapy team are experts in fall-prevention. Our team will perform a multi-system assessment to determine the cause of your balance problem. Then, your therapist will create a customized treatment plan to address your specific needs and goals.

    Our therapists provide BalanceWear®, which is an innovative, non-invasive, stabilizing device for people with with loss of postural control and balance.

  • We know “Aging in Place” is everyone’s goal as people want to stay in their homes as long as possible, and we can help make this happen.

    Whether or not you are receiving care at home or at the NeuroFit Clinic, or simply want a “one-time” home safety check, one of our qualified clinicians will come to your home and assess your needs.

    Service is available both before moving from another setting or if they’re already home.

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

  • Skills2Care® is an evidence-based program developed by researchers at Thomas Jefferson University and is designed to help train caregivers of those suffering from Alzheimer’s and other related types of dementia with the daily challenges that arise.

    This program is provided by an Occupational Therapist (OT) who is certified in Skills2Care® . The OT will assess the needs of the caregivers based on daily challenges they are facing with their loved one, along with the safety needs in the home environment.

    The OT then develops and helps to implement individualized strategies to address the needs of the caregiver and their loved one.

  • Occupational therapy is an essential part of one’s rehabilitation program. The main objective is to restore and improve one’s ability to perform functional activities. Occupational therapy focuses especially on what an individual is capable of doing, rather than what they cannot do.

    Our team of Dynamic occupational therapists focus on independence in activities of daily life including returning to work, dressing oneself, personal hygiene, transferring, and more.

SPEECH THERAPY

  • SPEAK OUT!® is the first step in the two part SPEAK OUT!® / LOUD Crowd® program.

    Dynamic’s highly trained team of speech-language pathologists (SLP) work with you through a series of speech, voice, and cognitive exercises, strengthening the speaking and swallowing muscles and communicating by speaking with intent.

  • This program is effective for voice disorders directly related to Parkinson's disease (PD). These problems often present in reduced volume, a hoarse-sounding voice, monotone, or slurred-sounding speech.

    LSVT LOUD® differs from traditional speech therapy in that it focuses on several different parameters of voice and speech at once, uniquely for those with PD.

    Treatments delivered by Dynamic LSVT LOUD® clinician can occur at home or at our NeuroFit clinic.

  • Some people may or may not know that speech therapists don’t only address speaking and swallowing, the also address problems with thinking and memory. Our Dynamic speech therapists are experts in evaluating and addressing cognition such as problems in impulse control or memory. Addressing and strengthening what one can do and finding adaptive strategies for problem areas is essential to improving quality of life.

    Education and training to caregivers is also an important part of our speech therapist’s plan of care.
